We saw two different species of zebra--Burchell's zebra at Pilanesberg and Mountain Zebras at Karoo Park. The mountain zebra differs from other zebras in that the mountain zebra has a dewlap, or fold of skin on the throat. Also note that the Burchell's stripes go around the stomach, where the mountain zebra's stomach is white.

Unlike horses, these animals cannot be trained to be ridden. it's been tried with not so good consequences.
